RRB ALP 2026 Eligibility Criteria:

RRB ALP 2026 Education Qualification:

Applicants must meet the required educational criteria and hold any one of the following qualifications.

Applicants must have passed 10th grade (Matriculation or SSC) + ITI (Industrial Training Institute) in relevant trades from a recognized university (NCVT/SCVT).

(OR)

10th (Matriculation or SSC) + must have completed an apprenticeship training in the relevant trade.

10th (Matriculation or SSC) + Hold a Diploma degree (3-year course) in engineering in the relevant trades.

(OR)

10th (Matriculation or SSC) + Degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) in the respective disciplines.

Eligible Streams/Disciplines: Electrical Engineering/ Electronics Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/Automobile Engineering

Eligible Trades: Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Wireman, Armature & Coil Winder, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic, Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic (Radio & TV), Fitter, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Tractor Mechanic, Mechanic (Diesel), Turner, Machinist, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic, Heat Engine, Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Tractor Mechanic, Mechanic (Diesel), Heat Engine, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic.

Nationality:

• Applicants must be citizens of India and Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who relocated to India permanently before 1st January, 1962.

• Individuals from Indian-authorized countries listed below who have moved to India to settle permanently are considered to be of Indian origin, and these individuals are eligible to apply for the RRB ALP 2026 exam.

Indian-authorized countries: Sri Lanka, East Africa, Pakistan, or Burma; the countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, the United Republic of Tanzania, and Vietnam.

RRB ALP 2026 Age Limit: 

Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age as of July 4, 2026.

RRB ALP 2026 Age Relaxation: (Maximum Age Limit)

Age relaxation is applicable for all reserved category candidates as per the Indian government rules and regulations.

• For SC and ST Candidates: 5 Years
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category: (10 Years + Age Relaxation for the relevant category)

      • PwBD(SC): 15 Years
      • PwBD(ST):  15 Years
• Ex-servicemen who have served for more than six months after attestation: (After subtracting length of service from age)

      • Ex-servicemen (OBC-NCL): 6 Years
      • Ex-servicemen (SC & ST): 8 Years
• Serving in Group ‘C’ / erstwhile (former) Group ‘D’ / Substitutes with a minimum of 3 years’ service period (continuous or in broken spell)

      • OBC (NCL), 43 Years of age
      • SC & ST 45 Years of age
• Female Candidates (widowed/divorced (Legally separated from husband but not married again))

• working in Quasi-Administrative offices of the railway organizations (Railway Canteens, Co-operative societies, and institutes):
  • • Up to the duration of service rendered or 5 years, whichever is less

• Candidates who completed their apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship Act before the age of 25.
